LISTEN TO THE ALBUM
… But who is
Stoned Pirates is the moniker of the Algerian born, Khaled, a visual artist, filmmaker and musician. Exposed to art at a young age, he grew up listening to rock, pop and disco. He taught himself music on a broken two-string guitar. After forming a band and singing his heart out at shows in his city, he decided tp pack his dreams and move to Los Angeles to further his career in music and film.
Stoned Pirates peculiar style comes from Khaled’s wide influences that range from classic rock, like the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Guns N’ Roses to synth dance pop music reminding of Michael Jackson’s 80s era. His sound also has a groove that stems from 70s and 80s funk and disco a la Nile Rodgers and Boney M , all subconsciously spiced up with a subtle Algerian flavor.
Khaled, not only produces, writes and arranges his own music, but he also makes his own visuals. He produced the visuals of the song Nothing, entirely in CGI by himself. Now the debut album “Flag Skull and Rock n Roll“ is released, he is already preparing his next single and another music video.
